CoreSpeed TIE: Give Agents Your Mac, Check the Source
Agent?

npm上的 @corespeed/cs 是另一层分发物。

Mac Studio
| 从npm/npx启动 | 启动器需要Node.js 20或Bun |
Node.js |

npx @corespeed/[email protected] tie --root ~/Work/agent-sandbox

CoreSpeed TIE lets MCP agents running elsewhere use an existing computer. For a Mac Studio owner, its value is reusing files, development environments, applications and signed-in sessions. Models, tools and the host Mac still perform the actual work.
The cover illustrates a shared workstation concept.
The official public repository is corespeed-io/cs, under Apache 2.0. Its verified contents are chiefly plugin configuration and skills; that does not establish complete public source for the desktop app, Rust daemon or hosted service.
Product: https://corespeed.io/tie
Repository: https://github.com/corespeed-io/cs
This review pins edb5d7f25cbd1fa9d99ed05a9af916dfd88c88b2, checked October 31, 2026. Vendor descriptions and limited local checks are distinguished from untested remote-control behavior.
What can agents reach?
A local daemon opens an outbound connection to CoreSpeed and exposes enabled tools to its MCP clients. This can reuse an established environment rather than reconstructing it inside a fresh sandbox.
| Capability | Possible use | Acceptance concern |
|---|---|---|
| Shell and files | Read projects, run tests, organize outputs | Working directory and account privileges |
| Signed-in browser | Work within an existing session | Page changes and submission controls |
| Screen and desktop | Operate applications without suitable APIs | OS permissions and observed results |
| Local MCP servers | Reach specialized local tools | Actual exported tool surface |
These are workflow examples, not completed remote tests here. Browser and screen providers require separate enablement; application reliability depends on driver and UI support.
CoreSpeed identifies Cua Driver as the browser/screen foundation. Its source is in trycua/cua, whose licensing separates Driver from other components.

What is actually public?
The checked tree contains manifests, MCP configuration, CLI/API skills, documentation and checks. It does not contain a complete Rust daemon/CLI project or Swift menu-bar app project. That bounds what was verified, rather than proving the components will never be published or all distributions are proprietary.
The inspected npm package, @corespeed/cs 0.11.1, declares Apache 2.0 and launches platform-native binaries through JavaScript. A license label, downloadable binaries and auditable complete source are separate observations. An older indexed corespeed-haas repository link returned404.
Plugin configurations also distinguish the full MCP endpoint from a smaller plugin surface, with CLI skills for tool discovery and calls. Check the actual loaded tools rather than inferring them from the landing page.

What does a Mac require?
The useful question is whether an existing machine holds an environment worth reusing. TIE itself does not establish a need to purchase a high-end workstation.
Access also depends on a CoreSpeed account, network connectivity and a compatible MCP client.
The current Mac app requires macOS 14 or later. Version 0.2.0 bundles its native program and no longer needs a separate Node installation. The npm/npx launch path still needs Node 20 or Bun. CLI builds cover Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
The October 23 launch’s Node 22 requirement is therefore stale for the updated app. Check both app and CLI versions. Compute and memory requirements for compilation, rendering or local models belong to those workloads, not to the bridge alone.
Changelog: https://corespeed.io/tie/changelog
What was checked locally?
Tests ran on Apple M4, 16 GB, macOS 26.6.2:
| Check | Result | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Eight upstream local configuration checks | Passed | Not cloud-policy or driver validation |
| npm wrapper/native package digests | Matched registry SHA-512 | Not independent publisher attestation |
Native cs --version | 0.11.1 | No paired device established |
| CLI and Tie help | Printed successfully | No authentication or remote-control validation |
The repository checks cover JSON, endpoint configuration, skill copies and manifest consistency. The third-party scanner Action was not run. An isolated config path was used for help/version checks; no login, pairing, persistent connection or OS permission grant occurred.
No startup, RAM or Mac Studio benchmark was performed. Performance figures in the Rust rewrite post remain vendor measurements. Documentation also includes newer commands than the inspected 0.11.1 binary, so check installed help and release notes before assuming availability.

Are directories and approvals complete isolation?
Official CLI documentation distinguishes file-tool roots from shell execution. File tools stay within shared roots; commands start there but run with the user’s account privileges. A root setting is not an OS sandbox.
Provider switches, deny lists and approval policy are distinct controls. The platform’s Approvals documentation says new organizations start with that feature off; after activation, Balanced permits ordinary writes by default. Passing through policy does not imply a human prompt for every action. Verify the actual configuration with controlled reads, writes, denials and pause tests.
CLI boundaries: https://corespeed.io/docs/cli/tie
Approval policy: https://corespeed.io/docs/approvals

How should a first trial work?
This is a proposed acceptance sequence, not a completed end-to-end deployment:
- Confirm versions and prepare a dedicated folder containing disposable test data.
- Pair through the official app or CLI, initially retaining private scope and checking enabled providers.
- List and read test files, then perform a controlled write under the intended policy and inspect the outcome.
- Enable browser/screen only when needed and try a task without external submission.
- Verify pause, resume and revocation, including persistent settings.
For an already-existing test directory, the inspected CLI supports:
npx @corespeed/[email protected] tie --root ~/Work/agent-sandbox
This enters pairing and persistent connection setup; it is not a harmless installation check. Official documentation distinguishes pausing from revoking with cs untie.
Local credentials do not establish that every business-data result remains offline. Tool outputs, file results or screen content can become agent inputs. Evaluate credentials, tool data flows and model-provider policies separately; no network-capture validation was performed here.
Costs likewise include host operation, model use and platform/tool charges. Free credits and paid plans do not establish unlimited free operation.

How does it relate to Infinity and GameFactory-3A?
Infinity addresses runtime resources while agents await events or tools. GameFactory-3A organizes game assets and engine-code generation. TIE connects agents to capabilities on an existing computer.
Infinity’s homepage links to hydro-project/infinity; hydro-project/hydro is the broader distributed Rust framework. The 75,000-idle-agent memory claim is not simultaneous model inference or evidence of TIE performance.

These articles are reused, not republished. No combined production system involving all three was tested in this review.
FAQ
Is Mac Studio required?
No. Official platform support is broader. Match the OS, applications and actual workload to the existing machine.
Can the public repository self-host all of TIE?
The inspected tree chiefly supplies plugins and skills. Complete product source and a self-hosting workflow were not established.
Does installation give every agent the whole Mac?
Reach depends on ownership, sharing, providers, OS grants and policy. Verify actual tool visibility and controlled tasks instead of inferring permissions from MCP compatibility.
